The band drives. The crowd rides along.
openplaylist is the public side of a working band's setlist: a clean page anyone at the gig can open to see what's playing, what's been played, and what's coming next.
A playlist the whole room can see.
Every band that plays with openplaylist gets a public playlist for the room. While the band plays, the page updates itself: the current song moves to the top, finished songs get crossed off, and the rest of the night is right there in order. It works on any phone browser, it needs no login, and there is nothing to install.
Live, not a flyer
The page follows the show in real time. If the band swaps a song mid-set because the floor wants something faster, the crowd sees the change as it happens.
Driven by the band
Nobody curates this after the fact. The same setlist the band plays from on stage is the one the crowd sees, straight from the stage.
Open to everyone
No account, no app store, no QR-code walled garden. If you can open a link, you can follow the set. That is the whole idea behind the name.
Born at a gig, like most good ideas.
openplaylist grew out of Game of Tones, a covers band whose setlist already ran live on stage every week. At shows people kept asking the same questions: what song was that? What are you playing later? Are you doing any Oasis tonight?
The band already had the answer on a screen on stage, so the obvious move was to give the room the same view. The first public playlist went up during a live set, and the questions turned into requests shouted by title instead of "play something we know".
- Somebody That I Used To Know
- Fast Car
- Take On Me
- Dancing Queen
- Valerie
- Sweet Home Alabama
- Wonderwall
- Bohemian Rhapsody
No gatekeeping the chorus.
Music at a gig is a shared thing, and the setlist should be too. openplaylist keeps three promises about being open:
- Open to the crowd. Anyone with the link can watch the night unfold. No sign-up, no tracking wall, nothing between the song and its title.
- Open to bands. Any band can put its sets on openplaylist. It is not a closed showcase for one act.
- Open about what's coming. A setlist is not a state secret. Knowing the next song is half the fun; singing along before the first chord is the other half.
Built by a working band, tested on stage.
openplaylist grew out of a voice-controlled setlist tool built for real rehearsals and real gigs. Everything on it has survived real soundchecks, real load-ins, and real crowds. If a feature can't survive a Friday night, it doesn't ship.
See a playlist doing its job.
Open a live set and watch it move. Then imagine your band's name at the top.
